Mobile Ki Battery Jaldi Khatam Ho Rahi Hai? 5 Aasan Settings
5 November 2026 · Professor Tech
Your phone was 100% in the morning, and by afternoon the battery is almost finished, even though you did not use it much. This is one of the most common complaints we hear. The good news is that you usually do not need a new battery. A few wrong settings quietly drain power all day. Change these five settings and you can easily gain extra hours.
1. Turn on Adaptive Brightness
The screen is the biggest battery user in any phone. When brightness stays at full level all day, the battery melts fast. Go to Settings → Display and turn on Adaptive brightness (also called Auto brightness). Your phone will now raise brightness in sunlight and lower it indoors automatically. If you prefer manual control, simply keep the slider around 40 to 50 percent when you are inside a room or shop.
2. Restrict apps running in the background
Many apps keep working silently in the background, checking for updates and messages even when you never open them. Go to Settings → Battery → Background usage limits (names differ slightly by brand) and put apps you rarely use to sleep. Also open Settings → Battery and see the usage list. If an app you barely use is eating a big share, restrict it or uninstall it.
3. Fix your Location settings
GPS is a heavy battery user, and many apps keep asking for your location all day. Go to Settings → Location and give location permission only to apps that truly need it, like Maps or ride booking apps, and set them to Allow only while using the app. For other apps, choose Don't allow. Your social and shopping apps do not need your location 24 hours a day.
4. Turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scanning
Even when Wi-Fi and Bluetooth look off, many phones keep scanning for nearby networks and devices to improve location accuracy, and this scanning uses power. In Settings → Location → Location services, turn off Wi-Fi scanning and Bluetooth scanning. Your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will still work normally when you switch them on yourself; only the hidden background scanning stops.
5. Use Battery Saver and Dark Mode
Turn on Battery Saver (in Settings → Battery) when your charge is getting low; it limits background activity and stretches the remaining battery. Also switch your phone and apps like WhatsApp and YouTube to Dark mode. On phones with OLED or AMOLED screens, dark pixels use almost no power, so dark mode genuinely saves battery. As a bonus, it is easier on the eyes at night.
One last check
Apply these five settings, then use your phone normally for one full day and compare. In most cases the difference is clear by the evening. Watch the video above to see each setting on a real phone, and visit the Professor Tech blog for more easy mobile tricks.
